A tiny wee black viola

At last. At long, long last a tiny wee black viola has shown its head. I'm sure that you know what it's like. You spend a fortnight getting half a dozen wee pots ready, you plant the seeds, go to bed and when you get up in the morning and nothing has shown -  bang, immediately you get paranoid.

But today I can proudly announce that after about a couple of weeks, one has, at last but looking cheerie, shown its head. My hope is rising. Now I'll have to have a look around the rest of the pots because there are a few more to be checked and the heart is beating ;))

Now I won't settle again for ages, waiting, hoping for a few more to show their gorgeous wee green heads. And it won't be long until they get re-potted into into something a little larger.

And when September, or possibly October comes along they'll be planted outside where they will sleep over the winter and spring will eventually arrive and they'll burst into flower :))

Hopefully ;)

Thank goodness for that

Whew, thank goodness for that. I got home on time, nipped in for a quick coffee and then shot out and watered the trees and they're looking pretty good.

Even the willows and the black hawthorns that I planted last year look as if there is a possible chance with them. I'm watching to see if any leaves come out and for a while now it has looked hopefully hopeful. One thing that I can't say yet is that they are dead so I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope.

But the Austrian Pines, my heart is on them. They look so good and they already have pine nuts right at the top, tiny little things as yet but every tree has four or five there so there's a forest awaiting.

Now I need to think about some small bushes that I can grow between the trees. Never ends, does it :))

Are British Telecom getting worse?

It's absolutely amazing just what British Telecom sell you - and then you see what you actually get. I've written about this before, possibly because it gets the frustration out of me and possibly because it actually lets everyone know what the truth is, instead of the crap that they tell you.

It certainly makes you aware of the difficulties we in Shetland have in getting anything that is useable from the internet.

Despite the promises, despite the promises that we pay for every month.

Despite the hope in our hearts.

This is the best of three tests. Just as well the post box is just up the road :(

No snow

They said it, they stood up on the telly and said it, they made the announcement on the internet, on their blog, everywhere and - it rained. Let's hope, fingers crossed, that next time they tell us things like that then the Weather forecast will be right because I'm a big kid, love the snow, I always have, no doubt always will.
