Scottish Independence

Quite an interesting poll is being run by The Scotsman at the moment. It’s a simple Yes/No question, “Should the independence referendum be brought forward from 2014?"

At present, 61% of the people that have taken part have said no and that’s quite a good answer, I believe. Alex Salmond set the date in the first place and there is no reason to cause an argument about it, there is no reason to rush into it and there is no reason to screw it up.

Personally, I'm looking forward to escaping fom the U.K. It does nothing but cost us money and get us into wars.

And don't forget - It's our oil, it always has been.

RIP Jocky Wilson

If anyone reading this has ever enjoyed playing or watching someone playing darts then you will know Jocky Wilson. Unfortunately, he passed away last night.

He wasn't what would be called an old man, he was only two days into his sixty-second year but he did have problems with his health.

Don't give up Jocky!!!

18th Century Cittern

This is a chap playing some old Scottish tunes on an old Scottish cittern. I think that it's really good and makes me want to get the dancing shoes on (even though I can't dance to save myself!!!), it is a pity that we don't hear more of this sort of music!!!

At last!!!

At last they, the BBC have finally managed to include Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. Didn't take long but it did display how useless they are when they can miss the capital.

Another reason for independence :(

Minimum pricing bill for alcohol

Spotted a very interesting point agreed by the Scottish government just now. The minimum pricing bill for alcohol will pass its first major parliamentary hurdle without opposition.

Personally, I think that is great. The sooner that alcohol stops being sold at  ridiculously cheap prices to lure in both ordinary customers and alcoholics like me, therefore making the problem some have even worse.

These cheap prices, designed to encourage customers to buy there, are probably very effective but the damage that they cause is massive.

This will help to diminish the problem. It won't end it but it will help.
